Choosing a Location for Your Oil Change

Oct 2nd, 2011 Dan Burns

An oil change is a necessary part of owning a vehicle, something that will happen at different intervals for different people and different vehicles. With that being said, everyone must consider the actual location that they are going to have their oil change at.

There are various options for you to choose from when you are looking for a place to change oil and filer. There are a few ways for you to choose a location for that oil change, giving you different options and allowing you to identify the best location for the oil change.

The Line

One of the most important things that you can look for is incredibly simple to identify, and only takes a quick drive-by to understand. Look for a line at the different oil change locations in your area. The different locations that have a constant line are going to be the locations that people trust. People will not keep coming back to an oil change location that failed to provide quality, affordable service.

The Reputation

The reputation of an oil change and lube location is incredibly important, a strong indicator as to the level of service of the shop. The best way for you to look into the reputation of a company is to go online. You will be able to find both positive and negative reviews for different oil change locations. A location that has multiple negative remarks may be a location that you want to avoid.

Talking to Dealerships

Dealerships are only going to take their vehicles to the best locations possible, whether it be for simple wheel alignment and brakes issues or more serious battery or grease steering linkage issues. Talk to the dealerships about where the take their vehicles, assuming they do not have a connected repair shop. They will direct you to a strong location, even for something as simple as an oil change.

Talking to Friends

Your friends can be some of the greatest resources that you can find. All of your friends will have had to get an oil change for their vehicles. Talk to them about the locations that they went to and how they felt about those locations. You will be able to ginfd great oil change locations just from their experiences alone.

Nearly every oil change shop is going to do similar things; inspect and fill under hood fluids, check belts and hoses, and rotate tires. Each oil change location has something different and unique to offer, however, whether that be great prices, quick service, or friendly workers. If you take the time to choose a location for an oil change you can be sure that you are picking the location that has everything that you expect and need from a shop. While it may take you some extra time, it could save you money or save you from a headache that you would have from choosing the wrong oil change location.
